Ganjeolgot ( 간절곶 )

I first saw a picture of the giant postbox at Ganjoelgot 간절곶 on a friends timeline and it immediately stood out. As I have spent quite a bit of time holidaying in Busan, Ganjoelgot appealed to me as it is just 2 hours drive away. It is very close to Ulsan, so it doesn’t require a lot of effort to get to.

Ganjeolgot is also the easternmost part of the Korea, so it is the place you can see the first sunrise of the year, earlier than anywhere else in Korea 🙂 Some info on Ulsan as well here.

I read a blog post last year where it said lots of cafes were here. However one local mentioned they were illegal so they all closed 🙁
