This past April I was lucky enough to get some time to go to Jinhae for their annual Cherry Blossom Festival 진해군항제 which happened from the 1st April until the 10th April. Below are a few photos from my trip. If you would like to know more about this festival please see here.
Hope you enjoy them.
Windmill along the river.
Umbrellas.
Streets were in full bloom.
Quite pretty.
Hearts.
Flowers..
It was a little busy 🙂
Some sea life haha
Another street filled with Cherry Blossoms.
Bit of entertainment if you like popping balloons…
Lots of road stalls selling street food 🙂
Bit of Fairy Floss.
The roads were littered with fallen flowers.
More Cherry Blossoms
Loads of people enjoying the flowers.
Funny looking cartoon.
Bikes! They do get illuminated at night but unfortunately I couldn’t stay.
There is a nice walkway along the river which is a must if you go!
Hi Selvi, I think I went there on the 5th April 2015. The best time depends obviously on when the cherry blossoms fully bloom which sometimes can be after the start of the festival. The Festival this year starts on the 1st April and finishes on the 10th. Here is a helpful link which gives you some good information about the Jinhae festival. I think you will have a great time either way 🙂 It gets extremely busy so expect some heavy traffic if you’re driving or even catching the bus there.
1. Hi, I will be in Busan from 22/3 -28/3. May I know can I go to this place to see cherry blossoms? Can I take picture as you took above since the festival has not started yet.
2. Is there any highest lookout point in Busan for night view?
The dates always change each year so your times might be a bit early. They normally start on the 1st of April however they might have started before that date if you are lucky. Best to search while you are here if the flowers have started to blossom otherwise you may go all the way there for nothing.
Busan Tower in Nampodong gives a loomout over Busan at night. Geumnyeonsan Mountain 금년산 gives a good lookout over Busan as well.
You can go anytime you like however the festival lasts 2 weeks and that is generally when the best viewing of the Cherry Blossoms are. No harm going a day earlier or a day after the festival ends to miss the crowds but keep in mind they might not be at their best viewing. Plenty of places in Busan to view Cherry Blossoms as well like Oncheon-cheon.
Hi, I will be in Busan with my family (including my parents in their early 50s) from 29 March to 01 April. I was planning a trip to Jinhae to see the cherry blossom on 30 march to avoid the sat/sun crowd (not sure if the festival is on though). Do you think the view in Jinhae is worth the trip? With the crowd not sure if we can get nice pictures. Or the view in Oncheon-cheon and Dalmaji-gil Road are pretty as well?
Sorry for the late reply. Jinhae is very crowded however it is a great festival and I enjoyed myself when I went. There are plenty of people however you can manage some nice photos still. Dalmaji Hill is really nice as the whole street is covered in Cherry Blossoms. Oncheon-cheon is also really great, especially at night. If you don’t make it to Jinhae don’t be too disappointed as Busan still has some great spots for them, they’ll be everywhere.
hallo, so good you have done visit there,, i wanna ask what is date you go there ? i plan 8 april to visit jinhae is it still full blossom ?
