I first saw a picture of the giant postbox at Ganjoelgot 간절곶 on a friends timeline and it immediately stood out. As I have spent quite a bit of time holidaying in Busan, Ganjoelgot appealed to me as it is just 2 hours drive away. It is very close to Ulsan, so it doesn’t require a lot of effort to get to.
Ganjeolgot is also the easternmost part of the Korea, so it is the place you can see the first sunrise of the year, earlier than anywhere else in Korea 🙂 Some info on Ulsan as well here.
Why a lot of people come to Ganjoelgot.
Small map of the area.
A small windmill .
Although it looks gloomy, this cafe bene provides a nice view.
One of the few statues next to the giant post box.
Another statues (sorry! not sure what it represents).
This place wasn’t packed at all, in fact barely saw anyone all day haha
The giant post box from afar.
It was constant drizzling so umbrellas were a must.
Unfortunately this was the only dolphin I saw…
Turtle with another statue on top.
This is actually a post box 🙂
Group pic.
A view of the inside.
There is more to see than a giant post box when you come to Ganjoelgot 🙂 🙂
Weekday + rain = nobody haha
A few handy pics on the sign posts.
Drama house.
I have no idea who these actors are tbh.. Any help??
I read a blog post last year where it said lots of cafes were here. However one local mentioned they were illegal so they all closed 🙁
Pretty good Pat Bingsu 😛
This cake was also fairly tasty.
View of the windmill from cafe bene.
Again no one here haha although they were some ajummas inside having a coffee 🙂
